Tuned City Exhibition and Conference in Berlin

tc_3.pngHere’s one conference / exhibition I would really really like to go to but can’t: “Tuned City - Between sound and space speculation” in Berlin, between 1st and 5th July. This event focuses on urban space and acoustics and will consist of a mixture of academic talks, artistic presentations, performances, reports from working practices, demonstrations, soundwalks, as well as site-specific installations.

From their website:
“The project draws the traditions of critical discussion about urban space within the architecture and urban planning discourse–as well as its strategies and working methods–into the context of sound art. This expanded discussion reenforces the potential of the spatial and communicative properties of sound as a tool and means of urban practice.”

Sessions in the programme have names such as “aural architecture”, “urban space and sonic experience”, “public and private soundscapes”, or “sonic dérive” that sound like candy to my ears… Oh how much I wish I could go…

Luckily, fellow mobilemusicworkshoper Frauke Behrendt will attend the event and most certainly blog about it on mobilesound.wordpress.com! She is giving a lecture about “Navigating Hybrid Spaces via Sound” there on 3rd July. Make sure not to miss it if you make it to Tuned City!
