Lalya at Rhode Island School of Design

This spring, I’ll (Lalya) cross the Atlantic to work as a visiting teacher and artist in residence at the Digital + Media department of Rhode Island School of Design in Providence, Rhode Island, USA (Feb-May 2009).

RISD is one of the most respected art school in the US and recently got superstar John Maeda as president. Faculty at D+M (3rd best digital media department in the country!!) include Teri Rueb (head of department) and Frauke Behrendt (visiting professor), both of which I am a big fan of.

During my stay at RISD, I’ll be teaching two studio courses every week:
- Mobile Technology Workshop [pdf]
- Digital + Media Technology Workshop [pdf]

As artist in residence the rest of the week, I’ll share the D+M project room with the awesome Kelly Dobson.

Needless to say I am very excited about all this! Can you tell?

Don’t hesitate to pass by and say hello if you’re nearby Providence! It’s in the beautiful New England region (supercute Victorian houses all over the place) + it’s only only one hour away by train from Boston and relatively close to New York and Montreal too!
