Interactivos? workshop at Eyebeam

The Interactivos? workshop initiated by the fantastic Medialab Prado in Madrid is taking place outside of Spain for the first time and taking over the art and technology centre Eyebeam in New York for two weeks! Definitely worth checking out!

The theme of this interactivos? is “Better Than the Real Thing”. A number of interactive art projects that explore “the blurry line between the real and the fake” and that “play with the idea of reality, disbelief and the illusions we experience in our technologically mediated lives” have been selected from an open call. They are now being developed during the time of the workshop with the help of skilled voluntary collaborators including artists, engineers, musicians, programmers, designers, and hackers. Many other activities will also take place such as debates and critique of work-in-progress, all open for the public to participate. On 12th July, the workshop will end with a final exhibition called “Double Take” that will last until 9th August.

Our friend Dan Wilcox aka Robotcowboy is also taking part in the workshop to develop a project!

The workshop is open to the public and has no entrance fee, in true Medialab-Prado-style. It will definitely be a fun place to hang out so if you are in the New York area make sure to pass by and have a look at the projects in development, participate in the other activities, and say hi to Dan from us!
